Selling Tips

When selling your home you should consider the following tips to save time and optimise the price you can acheive for your property:-

  • Have an agent come to your home and appraise the property. Ask the agent what fees they charge, what advertising mediums they use & the cost of each medium, what price they believe your property should sell in the vacinity of (remembering it is up to you what price you advertise YOUR property at). Find out the length of the agency agreement (3 months or 90 days is the general term of the agency agreement).

  • Select a Solicitor or Conveyancer to act on your behalf and request they draw up a contract for sale. Advise your legal representative of which agency will be acting on your behalf for the sale and whether your selling by Private Treaty (on public market at a price), Auction or Expression of Interest (on public market without a price and you can have an close date for expressions if you wish).

  • Look at the presentation of your home, the more appealing and welcoming. Refer to “Presentation” tab under “Selling Information” for tips on how to present your home.
